Andy Carroll scores absolute wonder goal from 40 yards out for new club Amiens

Ex West Ham United striker Andy Carroll scored an unbelievable goal for his new club Amiens yesterday, during their 1-1 draw with Annecy.

Andy Carroll played for West Ham for seven years from 2012-2019, and bagged 34 goals and 17 assists in 142 games (Transfermarkt).

The 34-year-old left the Hammers four years ago, joining his former club Newcastle before going on to play for Reading, West Brom and now Amiens in France’s Ligue 2.

The striker recently spoke about how much he enjoyed his time at the London Stadium up until his final couple of years at the club when he spent most of his time in the treatment room.

He seems to be enjoying life in France now though, and the goal he scored yesterday was an absolute joy to watch…

Amiens found themselves 1-0 down early on against Annecy yesterday afternoon.

However, just six minutes before half-time, Carroll produced something spectacular. With the Annecy goalkeeper caught in no man’s land outside his penalty box, the ball bounced kindly in the 34-year-old’s path.

Carroll struck the ball after it bounced right in front of him with his trusty left foot and found the back of the net. What a goal it was, and you can see it in stages of frames via RMC Sport.

The former West Ham, Liverpool and Newcastle hitman had a penchant for scoring incredible goals during his time in the English game, notably with the Hammers.

The one that sticks out in most peoples’ memories will be the stunning bicycle kick that he scored against Crystal Palace at the London Stadium.

Andy Carroll added to his collection with the wonder goal he scored for Amiens yesterday, and that one will undoubtedly be right up there amongst his personal favourites.
