Aaron Cresswell could be set to leave West Ham to join Wolves this summer for a rather surprising transfer fee.

According to Roshane Thomas – a journalist with very close connections at West Ham, Wolves are ready to pay around £5 million for Aaron Cresswell in the summer transfer window.

That’s an unbelievable deal for the Hammers – and comes in stark contrast to yesterday’s claims that the 33-year-old left-back would only cost Wolves £2.5 million.

The Liverpool-born defender has been a fine servant for West Ham over the past nine years, and he is still a very trusted by David Moyes. However, there is no room for sentiment at the very highest level. It really is time for him to move on in my opinion.

And it seems as though Cresswell may well be on his way out of the London Stadium this summer…

Wolves will be paying around £5 million for the Hammers left-back according to The Athletic’s Roshane Thomas.

What an unbelievably good deal that would be for West Ham.

Cresswell will be 34 at the end of this year and is out of contract the London Stadium in the summer of 2024.

In recent times, West Ham have kept hold of players for far too long through either misguided loyalty, or sentimentality.

That all has to change if we are to make progress to the next level.

Selling Aaron Cresswell to Wolves would certainly symbolise the start of that. And £5 million for the left back would be a truly incredibly deal for the Hammers.
