One player really stood out in north London last night for West Ham United vs Tottenham Hotspur.

The Tottenham vs West Ham Premier League clash was an absolute classic in the end, and one that will live long in the memories of the Hammers fans.

David Moyes would have been delighted with the manner in which his players came from behind to take all three points from the game last night.

The first and second-half performances were like chalk and cheese, and Jarrod Bowen admitted after the match that Moyes got into his players at half-time.

In my opinion, there was one West Ham player in particular who epitomised the exceptional turnaround after the half-time break, and that was Emerson Palmieri. Wow, just wow – what a performance from the 29-year-old!

And his unbelievable stats from the match prove just how good he was…

West Ham player really impresses vs Tottenham

Italy international Emerson was absolutely everywhere against Spurs last night, especially during the second-half.

The 29-year-old had 60 touches of the ball, made five tackles, four interceptions, one block, 31 passes and did not have a single unsuccessful touch (Who Scored).

It wasn’t just his stats that were really impressive though, he passed the so-called eye test with flying colours as well.

Emerson displayed impressive pace, strength, willingness to win and he defended as if his life was on the line. It really was so good to watch from the left-back.

What a player he is, and what a superb signing he was by David Moyes. The Italian was brought to the London Stadium from Chelsea for just £13 million in the summer of 2022.

That fee now looks like an absolute bargain. It must be said though, it’s a huge concern that we only have Aaron Cresswell to come into the side if Emerson is forced to miss games for any reason.

Moyes has to address that in January or next summer at the very latest but for now, let’s just all admire just how good Emerson Palmieri was for West Ham vs Tottenham last night. Truly outstanding, and the man of the match for me.
