It has been all change at West Ham United in the summer transfer window so far.

West Ham head coach Julen Lopetegui has made sweeping changes, with six new signings coming into the club and six players having left in the summer transfer window so far.

Things are set to get even better for the Hammers as well, with Lopetegui closing in on an incredible deal to bring Jean-Clair Todibo to the London Stadium.

However, with so many players coming in, and more apparently set to arrive as well, Lopetegui will undoubtedly have to trim the fat from his squad.

There are definitely too many players still at the club who’ve perhaps stayed a year too long, and are quite simply not up to the levels needed.

Over he past year, it was the same old players who let us down with their poor performances every single week.

And it seems like it could now be curtains at West Ham for one of those players in particular.

45-cap int’l could leave West Ham in the summer transfer window

There are two or three players at the London Stadium who have declined over the past year.

And moving them on this summer should be a priority for Lopetegui.

That will obviously be easier said than done given the drop-off in quality that they’ve displayed, but not impossible.

It seems like Kurt Zouma is already close to leaving the Hammers, and that’s no surprise to anybody – Lopetegui is as ruthless as they come.

Now another player could be set for pastures new, and this time it’s a real fan favourite who’s seemingly set for a London Stadium exit.

Vladimir Coufal is a transfer target for 21-time Super Lig champions Besiktas this summer, according to a report from Turkish media outlet Takvim.

He joined the Hammers from Slavia Prague back in October 2020, and has been a really solid performer for us on the whole.

The 45-capped Czech Republic international defender has already highlighted how much he enjoys playing in Lopetegui’s system.

However, those comments don’t necessarily ring true. In my opinion, he’s not suited to the aggressive, high-press playing style because he lacks any kind of pace.

Don’t get me wrong, Coufal has been a very good player for the Hammers, and he always gives his absolute all when he puts on the shirt.

However, it’s clear for everyone to see that he has regressed over the past six months or so, and Julen Lopetegui needs to make an upgrade on the West Ham right-back urgently.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is the man for the job at the London Stadium as far as I’m concerned.

However, if West Ham can’t get a deal for the Manchester United star done in the summer transfer window, then Kyle Walker-Peters should be targeted.
