West Ham could complete Jean-Clair Todibo hijack today after Tim Steidten flies out to Nice

Incredibly, Jean-Clair Todibo apparently could be a West Ham United player by the end of today.

Jean-Clair Todibo has been chased by West Ham all summer long, but it was always suggested that he had his heart set on a move to Juventus.

The Hammers were first linked with a move to sign the 24-year-old a few weeks ago, but the links seemed far fetched at the time.

However, since then the money spent by the Hammers owners proves just how ambitious they are.

Julen Lopetegui and Tim Steidten were clearly serious when it came to bringing Todibo to the London Stadium.

Yesterday, the Hammers were given hope when it was claimed that Juventus were only offering a loan deal for 12 months, with an option to buy Todibo next summer.

Meanwhile, West Ham were ready to pay Nice what they wanted for the towering centre-back up front.

It’s no surprise that the Ligue 1 outfit preferred that deal, and now it seems like Steidten has put the finishing touches on a transfer that seemed to be impossible just a few days ago.

This is after Fabrizio Romano claimed that the Frenchman was almost certain to join Juventus!

Juventus will be licking their wounds this morning after apparently having missed out on the Nice centre-back.

Little old West Ham having their way with Italian giants Juventus in the transfer market eh! I truly never thought I would see the day.

The Hammers clearly mean business this summer, and well done to the board for backing Lopetegui to the limit.

Fabrizio Romano claims that West Ham are confident of getting the green light from Todibo today, and the hijack of Juve’s move to sign him could be complete within the ‘next few hours’.

Wow, that really is all I can say to this. What a signing the former Barcelona man will be for the Hammers, if Steidten manages to get it over the line.

He’s incredibly powerful in the air, quick along the ground, is a great tackler and reads the game superbly well.

At 24, the Frenchman has at least 10 years left ahead of him playing at the highest level, and the partnership he would form with Max Kilman would be a fearsome one.

He’s perfectly suited to the Premier League what with his power, impressive pace and willingness to embrace the physical side of the game.

West Ham signing Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice this summer would be a major statement from the club, it really would.

And now it seems like the Hammers are very close to making it happen – truly incredible work from everyone involved with the deal.
