Jamie O’Hara was left stunned by what he noticed from the West Ham fans in Tuesday’s loss against Nottingham Forest.

West Ham lost 2-1 to Nottingham Forest and that result ensured that the London outfit are now seven points adrift of safety.

Nuno Espirito Santo is in danger of the sack as the losses against Wolves and Forest have only added to the pressure on him.

If you could replace Nuno with one out-of-work manager, who are you picking?

And why?

Jamie O’Hara stunned by West Ham fans’ silence

Speaking on talkSPORT right after the game, O’Hara attributed some of the blame for the loss to the home fans.

West Ham took the lead courtesy of an own goal by Murillo, but then conceded an equaliser from a corner as Nicolas Dominguez headed the ball into the back of the net.

There was then controversy surrounding a penalty which was awarded to the visitors as Alphonse Areola was judged to have committed a foul inside the penalty area.

This is shocking! 😰 Relegation is going to be dire for West Ham…

What would YOU do to avoid this mess?

West Ham owner David Sullivan

Morgan Gibbs-White then scored from the resulting spot kick that proved to be the winner for Forest.

O’Hara’s issue with the home fans was that they were quiet after their side took the lead and did not make the players on the pitch feel like they were behind them.

He said: “When they scored a goal to go up 1-0, I heard a pin drop. I couldn’t believe it. Come on.

“They have gone. They have a leg in the Championship. The fans aren’t turning up to games.”

What happens next for West Ham?

There most certainly will be an inquest behind the scenes at the London Stadium, given the club’s disastrous form.

The owners have backed Nuno with two new signings in the January transfer window, but that does not mean he is safe from the sack.

Despite the poor structure at West Ham, the manager himself has made questionable calls regarding his team selections and substitutions, which may result in him losing his job.

This may also change the club’s transfer strategy and they could look to bring in more players in multiple positions, potentially on loans, throwing the kitchen sink in order to help the Hammers avoid relegation.
