David Moyes has suggested that Aaron Cresswell has a slight hamstring complaint after West Ham beat Aston Villa this afternoon.

The Hammers beat Villa 1-0 and earned an absolutely vital three points in the process.

The performance in general wasn’t great though, and the afternoon certainly didn’t flow without incident for West Ham.

Ben Johnson left the field midway through the first-half with a hamstring injury and was replaced by Vladimir Coufal.

It seems as though the 22-year-old wasn’t the only Hammers player suffering, however…

David Moyes makes Aaron Cresswell admission after West Ham beat Aston Villa

The Scot addressed the media after our 1-0 win at Villa Park.

And Moyes lifted the lid on another potential injury problem for West Ham in a addition to Ben Johnson, as quoted by Football.London:

“He (Johnson) just felt a tight hamstring. Cressy felt it as well…it is just the Thursday Sunday. I’m not having a gripe.”

At the end of the day, Thursday – Sunday games are no different to Wednesday – Saturday as far as I’m concerned.

The West Ham players just don’t seem to be at peak fitness at the moment, and that’s when injuries begin to creep in.

Hopefully the win against Aston Villa today will give the West Ham players that extra psychological boost as they head into a really tough couple of weeks of fixtures that sees us take on Tottenham, Chelsea and Newcastle in the Premier League and FCSB in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

However, whether Johnson, or Cresswell for that matter, are fit enough to take part in any of those games remains to be seen.
