Red hot young West Ham star Armstrong Oko-Flex to face old club Arsenal as Under 23s boss drops big hint with team selection?

West Ham have struggled as an attacking force since the November international break with striker Michail Antonio having hit a lull in form.

Antonio is without a goal since netting the winner against Spurs in October.

The Hammers have not functioned as fluidly and efficiently as they had prior to the November break.

Indeed a freak Arthur Masuaku goal against Chelsea secured West Ham’s only win in their last five Premier League games.

The 0-0 draw at Burnley on Sunday highlighted West Ham’s profligacy.

And there have been calls for David Moyes to change things up in a bid to get the Hammers hitting hard again.

Red hot young West Ham star Armstrong Oko-Flex to face old club Arsenal as Under 23s boss drops big hint?

To that end red hot young forward Armstrong Oko-Flex – who joined in the summer on a free transfer from Celtic – looks set to be in the squad against Arsenal on Wednesday night.

He also looks like being joined in the squad by three young West Ham academy teammates Harrison Ashby, Aji Alese and Jamal Baptiste.

That’s after the club’s Under 23 boss Mark Robson dropped a huge hint by omitting all four from his squad which drew 0-0 with Wolves U23s on Monday.

Oko-Flex started out at Arsenal before joining Celtic.

So West Ham fans will be hoping he might return to haunt his former club.

It seems highly unlikely Oko-Flex, Ashby, Baptiste or Alese will start against Arsenal unless there are injury or covid absences.

But they will clearly be in the squad having been omitted from the Under 23s side.

Three of them had a taste of first team action last week when they played against Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League.

Oko-Flex was not eligible to play in that game as he could not be registered as a homegrown player for the competition.

He has been on fire for the under 23s so far and featured heavily in pre-season under Moyes.

So the Scot will know all about what he can offer if he does get on against his old club.

Oko-Flex scored on his return to Celtic in pre-season. So let’s hope that’s a good omen for his return to Arsenal with West Ham.
