Hammers boss David Moyes looks set to make two West Ham changes for Wolves despite a Lucas Paqueta admission.

And West Ham fans will be thankful it’s not three changes after fears Edson Alvarez would not make the game.

As reported on Hammers News last night, West Ham dropped a big hint over Alvarez’s availability to face Wolverhampton Wanderers yesterday.

There has been a lot of talk around Hammers number one goalkeeper Alphonse Areola after his absence for the Spurs and Fulham games following a wrist injury.

Predicted: Moyes makes two West Ham changes for Wolves

The injury was only minor and he was back in the squad for Freiburg, on the bench.

We believe that was an indication that David Moyes will bring him back into the side against Wolves as Lukasz Fabianski kept his place as the cup ‘keeper despite Areola’s availability.

Many have pointed to the fact Fabianski was excellent in wins over Spurs and Freiburg. But he also conceded five at Fulham in-between.

So Areola – who has been nominated for Premier League save of the month in every month so far – will return to the starting XI in change number one.

Areola and Zouma back in?

Change number two should see captain Kurt Zouma return to the side in place of Konstantinos Mavropanos.

And that should be that for Moyes when Gary O’Neil brings his Wolverhampton Wanderers side to the London Stadium.

That’s despite the manager admitting before the game that he has been playing Lucas Paqueta out of position.

Those comments suggested he might make changes to correct that. But that would mean dropping Tomas Soucek or James Ward-Prowse – something he has been reluctant to do.

West Ham fans will be looking for Moyes to continue the pressing, front-footed, higher tempo approach the team displayed against Freiburg.

Areola, Coufal, Zouma, Aguerd, Emerson, Alvarez, Soucek, Ward-Prowse, Paqueta, Kudus, Bowen.
