West Ham United have dropped a monumental boost on social media on the eve of Wolves amid the big Edson Alvarez doubt.
Proof – if it were needed – of Edson Alvarez’s importance to this West Ham side arrived in spades this week.
Without the midfield destroyer due to illness at Fulham, the Hammers were embarrassingly trounced 5-0.
When the Mexican returned to the heart of David Moyes’ side a few days later in the crunch Europa League decider against Freiburg, he ran the show, setting up the first before making and scoring the second in a 2-0 win.
Alvarez was even a strong shout for man of the match despite being withdrawn on 54 minutes with injury.

Said injury was the only down side as West Ham marched into the last 16 – especially with an important and winnable game against Wolves to come on Sunday.
In his pre-match press conference, Moyes admitted Alvarez was a potential doubt after sustaining a hip injury which saw him hobble off gingerly against Freiburg.
‘We’ll have to see how he is,” Moyes told the press as he waxed lyrical about El Machin.
With no obvious replacements, being without Alvarez is a worry. Particularly after the Fulham debacle.

Because West Ham have dropped a monumental boost on social media on the eve of Wolves amid the big Alvarez doubt.
On the club’s Instagram Stories on Saturday evening, West Ham have posted a picture of Alvarez taking part in full training at Rush Green ahead of the clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Mohammed Kudus, Jarrod Bowen, Pablo Fornals and Danny Ings are also pictured being put through their paces ahead of Wolves coming to the London Stadium.
That is a massive boost for Moyes and the boys.
Alvarez is already arguably West Ham’s most important player given his role in the engine room as Declan Rice’s replacement.
Let’s hope he shows it again up against Gary O’Neil’s game Wolves side in Sunday’s 2pm kick-off.
