Predicted: David Moyes makes just one West Ham change for Frankfurt and resists calls over star Said Benrahma

Hammers boss David Moyes makes just one West Ham change for Frankfurt and resists calls over star Said Benrahma.

That’s our Hammers News prediction ahead of tonight’s huge Europa League semi-final second leg against Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Hammers may be trailing 2-1 from the first leg, but Frankfurt’s dismal home record gives West Ham major hope of making the Europa League final.

Moyes admitted his big fear is having to chase the game against a Frankfurt side renowned for their counter attacking quality.

West Ham go into the game off the back of a 2-1 home defeat to Arsenal while Frankfurt lost 2-0 away at Bayer Leverkusen.

Both Moyes and Frankfurt boss Oliver Glasner rested players, though, so not much can be read into either result.

West Ham did not show the best version of themselves in the home leg. Moyes knows his players will have to produce a much better performance if they are to turn the tie around and make the final in Seville.

There have been calls in the build-up to start Said Benrahma over Manuel Lanzini or Pablo Fornals.

Benrahma frustrates as much as he excites.

But he did make an impact against Frankfurt when coming on a substitute in the first leg. On another day with more precision, Benrahma could have had a goal and an assist during his time on the pitch.

He certainly gave the Frankfurt defence something to worry about.

But we predict Moyes makes just one West Ham change for Frankfurt and resists calls over star Benrahma.

We believe the only change Moyes will make from the side that started the first leg at the London Stadium will see Vladimir Coufal come in at right-back in place of Ben Johnson.

Coufal was brilliant in the 3-0 away win over Lyon. And Moyes will lean on his vast experience for this one.

Johnson has been declared fit after a thigh strain.

But we think Moyes won’t risk it with Coufal getting the nod instead.

Moyes will resist calls for Benrahma to start instead of Fornals and Lanzini – who have both hit a patch of poor form of late.

Predicted West Ham starting XI to face Frankfurt:

Areola, Coufal, Dawson, Zouma, Cresswell, Soucek, Rice, Fornals, Lanzini, Bowen, Antonio.
