There are likely to be changes galore for the Norwich game tonight as David Moyes faces a big West Ham selection headache.
In fact it may be more like a selection migraine for Moyes with insiders Claret and Hugh claiming this morning that West Ham have been hit with a number of Covid and injury blows.
West Ham are very much looking to beat the league’s bottom side with the chance to go back into fourth spot the carrot being tantalisingly dangled.
Norwich have plenty to play for too, though. Dean Smith’s side know a win will draw them level on points with 17th placed Watford.
There is a real sense of irony for the Irons as West Ham’s use of young players in the Europa League now sees them deemed first team players in the eyes of the Premier League.
It leaves a particularly bitter taste given how readily games have been permitted to be postponed by the Premier League for certain clubs of late.
It remains to be seen how badly affected West Ham are come kick off.
But large scale absences will be a real leveller between West Ham and the Canaries.
It is all the more frustrating given that ahead of the original fixture in December – which was postponed due to Covid cases in the Norwich camp – Moyes had a strong squad available to him.
This is unfair in the extreme on West Ham.
But hopefully the Hammers show the resilience that has become one of their biggest and best traits under Moyes over the last two years.
Predicted: Changes galore for Norwich as David Moyes faces big West Ham headache
So it seems there will be changes galore tonight. As a result predicting a team is pretty futile.
We will give it a go anyway. Although it is highly unlikely to hold much water come kick off.
Based on form and the changes we would expect Moyes to make from the Leeds win with the full squad available – minus known absentees such as Angelo Ogbonna, Kurt Zouma and Said Benrahma – here’s how West Ham could line-up against Norwich.
And it would see two changes – although as mentioned above, the reality come kick off is likely to be many more.
Fabianski, Coufal, Dawson, Diop, Johnson, Soucek, Rice, Bowen, Lanzini, Vlasic, Antonio.
