There’s a mammoth boost for David Moyes as Newcastle lose up to five key stars for West Ham including bogeyman Callum Wilson.

West Ham and Newcastle United have big European games this week before they come face-to-face in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Hammers are one point and one place above the Magpies in the table and could go level on points with fourth-placed Liverpool with a victory.

Newcastle have the small matter of a Champions League clash with PSG at St James’ Park on Wednesday night.

Meanwhile West Ham are away to German side Freiburg in the Europa League on Thursday.

Major impact for David Moyes as Newcastle lose up to five key stars for West Ham including bogeyman Callum Wilson

West Ham vs Newcastle games usually tend to be exciting contests.

And if one thing is inevitable when the two sides meet, it is that striker Callum Wilson will score.

But some welcome news has emerged for West Ham from the north east ahead of Sunday’s clash at the London Stadium.

There’s a mammoth boost for David Moyes as Newcastle lose up to five key stars for West Ham including bogeyman Wilson.

In-form forward Anthony Gordon will definitely miss the game after picking up a suspension following his yellow card in the win over Burnley.

That in itself is fantastic news for the Hammers because Gordon has been one of Eddie Howe’s standout players so far this season.

Three Magpies definitely out of Hammers trip with another two key stars major doubts

Harvey Barnes, who Newcastle allegedly beat West Ham to signing in the summer, will also miss the game having been ruled out until the new year through injury.

And Newcastle World claims injured Joe Willock will also be unavailable while defender Sven Botman is also a major doubt having missed the clash against the Clarets.

The biggest relief will be if the same report’s claim about Wilson is accurate.

Michail Antonio’s mate has 12 goals in 13 appearances against the Hammers and scored twice in a 5-1 Newcastle win when they visited the London Stadium back in April.

Wilson also scored after just three minutes of a 1-1 draw between Newcastle and West Ham at St James’ Park back in February.

Like Botman, Wilson missed the Burnley game and the reports list him as a doubt for West Ham.

Moyes will certainly be lifted by this news and given the strength of his own squad, confidence will be high.
