Everton are all set to play host to West Ham United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, as was confirmed last night.

This weekend’s games were under threat of postponement, just like the last round of fixtures, after the sad passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

However, the Premier League confirmed last night that seven matches will go ahead, including Everton vs West Ham at Goodisdon Park.

The Toffees official Twitter account confirmed that the kick-off has been changed to 2:15 and the game will now be shown live and exclusive on Sky Sports.

The match being on is great news for David Moyes, his West Ham players and the Hammers fans. We desperately need to bounce back from our defeat to Chelsea in the Premier League with three points against Everton.

Meanwhile, the match going ahead perhaps isn’t quite so good for the Toffees or their manager Frank Lampard.

Everton need a win just as much as we do and are currently hovering just above the relegation zone in the Premier League table.

They’ve been dealt a huge injury blow ahead of the game though…

The Blues probably could have done with the game against the Hammers being called off.

That’s because arguably their most important player – Jordan Pickford, has injured his thigh and will not be back in action for around another month or so (Sky Sports).

Lampard could have done with the Everton vs West Ham game being postponed because when it would have been replayed, he’d have had Pickford back and available for selection.

So for once, the cookie seems to have crumbled West Ham’s way.

We felt that last’s weekend’s postponements came at at a great time for Newcastle but a bad time for us. Eddie Howe had three key men – Bruno Guimaraes, Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin doubtful for the clash at the London Stadium.

It seems as though things have evened themselves out this week though.

West Ham have a very impressive recent record against Everton at Goodison Park, having won three of our last four away games against the Toffees.

Without Jordan Pickford, the Merseyside outfit are a much weaker team. The England international has been in sensational from recently as well. So losing him to injury is a massive blow for Everton.

Hopefully West Ham can kickstart our Premier League season on Sunday with what would be a truly massive three points.
