David Moyes’s men have made an inauspicious start to their 2022/23 campaign, having taken just four points from our opening six games.

West Ham desperately need a win vs Newcastle on Sunday. Nothing less than three points will do.

We all know that the Magpies represent a really stern test now though, so the Hammers players will have to be on their very best form, if they are to beat the north-east outfit.

Ian Wright has a warning for Moyes ahead of West Ham vs Newcastle

The BBC pundit was speaking on the Kelly and Wright show, and absolutely raved about Newcastle new boy Alexander Isak:

“I like Isak at Newcastle. Another 6ft 4ins striker. When you see the way he scored his first goal. It was unfortunate with his next chance [against Palace] when he tried to dink it. I just think at Newcastle, the way he plays, he can play as the number nine. The counter-attacking form. He presses. He has great skill. He could be a really, really good signing. I think he’s going to be a very good signing.”

A lot is expected of Isak in the Premier League.

Newcastle paid £65 million, including add-ons, in order to prise him away from Real Sociedad last month (ESPN).

Moyes will have to set his team up with Isak in mind. The 22-year-old is one of the most dangerous strikers on the planet.

Thilo Kehrer and Kurt Zouma have been in fine form though. And we are backing the Hammers duo to deal with Isak.

The West Ham vs Newcastle clash is a hugely important one for our season. Let’s hope that Ian Wright’s warning hasn’t fallen on deaf ears.
