West Ham dealt potential Jarrod Bowen hammer blow after new surgery claim surfaces from expert

West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen suffered a knee injury during training with England earlier this week, and he may now require surgery.

Jarrod Bowen has been in exceptional form for West Ham this season, hence his recall back into the England fold, so if he needs any kind of surgery, it will be a major problem for us.

Hammers boss David Moyes would have been pulling his hair out when he heard about Bowen’s injury, but that anger would have dissipated when a report claimed he might even be fit for the Burnley game this weekend.

The 26-year-old has nine goals and three assists to his name already this season (Transfermarkt), so it’s quite obvious just how much we rely on him.

His knee injury came at a really unfortunate time for Jarrod – he has been on fire for West Ham this season, and the same can be said for his form during training with England leading up to his knock.

Now it looks like Bowen’s injury might be worse than first feared…

Jarrod Bowen surgery now a possibility

According to injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar, the worst case scenario would see Jarrod going under the knife.

The Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist told West Ham Zone:

“Something is irritating Bowen’s knee and he will undergo further scans and testing to determine the issue. He’s not one to get injured and has a reputation for not complaining so when he does, it does bring some concern. Worst case scenario would be surgery but hard to give any possible diagnoses without more info.”

If Jarrod Bowen is forced to undergo surgery, it would obviously be a hugely damaging blow for West Ham.

Let’s hope that that isn’t the case, and the scan comes back with positive results. We need the former Hull City star to be firing on all cylinders between now and the end of the season, if we are to challenge both domestically and on the continent.

I’m pretty confident that Bowen will be fine. He is immensely robust, and hopefully he’ll shrug the knee injury off fairly easily.
