West Ham defender Angelo Ogbonna allegedly could return from injury to training on grass as early as next month in what is huge news for the club.
That’s according to a claim from high level West Ham insiders Claret & Hugh.

Ogbonna, 33, suffered an ACL injury during our 3-2 win over Liverpool back in November and was subsequently ruled out for the remainder of the season.
Losing the Italian centre-back was such a massive blow for the Hammers at the time.

Ogbonna had played such a key role in our success since the start of the 2020/21 campaign. The former Juventus man was a really commanding and authoritative figure at the back for West Ham and always ensured that we were well organised and set up properly to both defend and attack set-pieces.
Craig Dawson has performed admirably during Oggy’s absence but he is still a huge miss for us. It seems as though there is some good news for the Hammers fans to digest this afternoon though…
Ogbonna injury news
Claret & Hugh claims that the experienced centre-half is aiming to return to training next month and could even participate during sessions on grass.
Does that mean there’s a chance he could return before the end of this season? Nobody actually knows yet but it’s a big boost either way.

Ogbonna is actually out of contract at the London Stadium in the summer. He has been a great servant for West Ham though, so he will surely be offered at least a one-year extension on that deal.
David Moyes will be well aware of just how important Angelo Ogbonna is to our hopes of making genuine progress over the next couple of years.
The Italian is still arguably our best defender, alongside Kurt Zouma of course.
Hopefully the 33-year-old returns to action sooner rather than later and manages to replicate the levels that he has shown for West Ham over the past 18 months.
Ogbonna still has a lot to offer for the Hammers. And having him back and available for selection will be a huge boost for everyone involved with the East London outfit.
