There is massive West Ham relief over Manuel Lanzini today after a new picture emerged from the club’s Rush Green training ground.
West Ham face Watford as the Premier League resumes on Tuesday night.
And the game is huge for both teams with West Ham desperate to return to winning ways to stay in the mix for the European places while Watford need every point they can get in a bid to avoid relegation.
West Ham were rocked ahead of the game, though, when Moyes revealed in his pre-match press conference that in-form midfield ace Lanzini has suffered an Achilles injury.
“Manu’s needing a bit of time with an Achilles injury,” Moyes stated.
It came as a big blow given Lanzini’s importance to the West Ham side as an integral starter of late.
The Hammers had been struggling in transition before Lanzini earned a regular starting spot over the winter period.
Fans feared they may not see the little jewel again for a while Achilles injuries can cause quite a lot of discomfort and take some time to heal.
But there was massive relief over Lanzini as a new picture emerged from West Ham’s Rush Green training ground yesterday.
West Ham posted a picture gallery of the Hammers squad training ahead of the Watford clash.
And Lanzini was out on the grass with his teammates suggesting he won’t be too far away if he does miss out against the Hornets.
The gallery – titled ‘Hammers prepare for Watford’ – shows Lanzini smiling at the camera while out on the Rush Green pitches alongside youngster Armstrong Oko-Flex.
The picture is captioned ‘There was plenty of attacking threat on display in Armstrong Oko-Flex and Manuel Lanzini’.
Should Lanzini not make the side for Watford then it is likely Pablo Fornals will slot into his role after his impressive cameo against Kidderminster.
The Spaniard has admitted he has been struggling with his own form since welcoming his first child into the world.
But he looked lively against Leeds in the FA Cup and Kiddy and should come in for this one in Lanzini’s place.
The Argentine playmaker will hopefully not be too far away, though, and perhaps even Leicester at the weekend will be a possibility.
