Insider makes claim of major triple boost for West Ham boss David Moyes and his Europa League hopes

A Hammers insider has made claims of a major triple boost for West Ham boss David Moyes and his Europa League hopes.

West Ham’s easy 4-0 win over Norwich City was marred by a triple injury blow to key players on Sunday.

The Hammers ran out comfortable victors at already relegated Norwich with a brace from Said Benrahma, a first Premier League goal for Michail Antonio since New Year’s Day and a Manuel Lanzini penalty.

But the match came at a cost for Moyes.

Antonio was substituted at half-time with a hip injury.

Craig Dawson had to be withdrawn in the second half after collided with advertising hoardings.

And two-goal Benrahma looked the most serious of the lot with a painful looking foot injury which saw the Algerian have to be helped off the pitch and leave the stadium on crutches.

The trio of injury concerns were a big worry for West Ham given the Hammers can still leapfrog Man United into sixth spot and a Europa League place in the final two games against Man City and Brighton.

Ahead of the Man City game Antonio appeared to drop a major injury hint.

And Moyes said he did not think any of the injuries were too serious.

Now an insider claims there is a major triple boost for West Ham boss Moyes and his Europa League hopes.

Speaking to Claret and Hugh, the West Ham insider says Antonio and Dawson should be fine to face Man City while Benrahma even has a favourable chance of being fit.

“We were told today that the medical staff believe he (Benrahma) may have as high as a 60-40 chance of making the game having checked him over today,” Claret and Hugh report.

“Both Mikey Antonio – who thankfully was back among the goals on Sunday (but) suffered a knock on his hip – (and Dawson are) expected to be fit for the weekend.”

It will come as a huge boost for Moyes and West Ham’s Europa League ambitions even if they only have Antonio and Dawson back in time to face Man City.

West Ham will also be hugely encouraged by the fact Man City have been hit by a defensive injury crisis as confirmed by Guardiola himself.
