David Moyes has suggested that Angelo Ogbonna and Manuel Lanzini are doubtful for West Ham United’s clash with Newcastle on Sunday.

The Hammers are set to travel to the north east on Sunday having only made one senior signing so far – Alphonse Areola on a season-long loan deal from Paris Saint-Germain.
David Moyes’s squad is threadbare to say the least. The last thing we needed heading into the new season is for any of our key players to pull up with injuries.

On the most part, we are looking good for Sunday’s game. There are some doubts, however.
David Moyes provides injury update ahead of West Ham Newcastle clash
The Scot was speaking to reporters this afternoon and responded when asked if he has any doubts for this weekend’s game, as quoted by Football.London:

“We have a couple, Angelo Ogbonna had a hamstring injury he picked up against Celtic, he is back in some sort of training [Manuel] Lanzini has had a little bit of a groin problem so we are hoping that he will be okay as he is back in and around it but in the main, we have knocks and niggles here and there but hopefully everybody will be okay.”
Let’s hope that Ogbonna and Lanzini are ok for the match because we need all hands on deck at the moment.
By the sounds of it, both players could play, at the same time, however, they are far from guaranteed to be fit.

Surely the board realise just how stretched our squad currently is. We will reserve judgement until September 1st, but if Moyes hasn’t made any signings by then, we could be in for a long, hard season.
