David Moyes has issued an update after a report of a Nayef Aguerd weight loss issue ahead of West Ham United’s clash with Brentford.
As reported by Hammers News, it was always likely Aguerd would miss the Arsenal clash on Boxing Day after injury and illness while at the World Cup with Morocco.
That proved to be the case and my how West Ham missed him during a dismal 3-1 defeat in which Thilo Kehrer was turned inside out by unfancied back-up striker Eddie Nketiah.

There were hopes Aguerd, who was one of the stars of the World Cup during the Atlas Lions’ historic run to the semi-finals, would be back for the must-win game against Brentford on Friday night.
But website Claret and Hugh claimed he is a doubt having suffered weight loss as a result of the virus he picked up in Qatar.
West Ham have barely seen Aguerd in the Premier League since signing him for £30m in the summer.
The left-footed centre-back suffered a serious ankle injury in only his second appearance of pre-season and just started making his comeback before the World Cup pause.
With Moyes’ job reportedly on the line if the Hammers fail to beat the Bees, the Scot will clearly be keen to get his star defender on the pitch.

Now Moyes has issued an update after the report of the Aguerd weight loss issue ahead of the West Ham clash with Brentford.
Speaking in his pre-Brentford press conference, Moyes all but confirmed the weight loss report and admits Aguerd is a doubt.
“Nayef is still coming back from illness but we’re trying to build him back up,” Moyes said in his presser (whufc.com).
“If I can get him involved (tomorrow) I will.
“But I don’t think he’s quite ready.”
It never rains but pours at West Ham it seems.
Brentford and Ivan Toney will be licking their lips.
