West Ham mutiny report over Kurt Zouma salary is utter drivel and here's the proof

Reports of a mutiny at West Ham over Kurt Zouma’s salary is utter trouble-making drivel and here’s the proof.

Last night The Daily Mail ran a pathetic “exclusive” claiming the £250k fine dished out to Zouma had sparked a mutiny at West Ham as it supposedly unmasked the £30m defender as the club’s highest earner.

“Furious West Ham players to DEMAND pay rises after they found out cat-kicker Kurt Zouma is the club’s top earner on £125,000 a week when the details of his RSPCA-donated fine were made public!” is The Daily Mail’s headline.

West Ham mutiny report over Kurt Zouma salary is utter drivel and here’s the proof

“Sportsmail understands there is a sense inside the Hammers’ squad that the public backlash against the central defender has been over the top – and there is a feeling amongst his team-mates that they must rally round Zouma, who will avoid an FA punishment for the shocking episode.”

Any West Ham fan reading the story would surely have laughed out loud, though.

Because it has been a widely reported and well known fact that Zouma is the club’s highest paid player and that his weekly wage is £125k since he signed for the Hammers in the summer.

And it was reported by none other than THE DAILY MAIL THEMSELVES way back in September.

To drag that up now and try to make out as if West Ham’s players were somehow blissfully unaware is nothing short of a disgrace.

The world and its wife is piling on West Ham right now and this is another low tabloid blow as The Daily Mail – nicknamed The Daily Fail by many – jumps on the bandwagon.

Why would West Ham’s players suddenly care about Zouma’s wages now when it has been a widely known fact since he joined?

And surely if the players were getting restless over salary disparity they would have kicked off about the woeful Andriy Yarmolenko picking up £115k per week for the last four years?

Or how about flop striker Javier Hernandez who was West Ham’s highest ever earner on £145k per week?

This is nothing but a shameful attempt to join in the West Ham pile on with the club doing so well on the pitch.
