Callum Wilson quite clearly doesn’t have any kind of future at West Ham United.
After West Ham signed striking duo Pablo and Taty Castellanos earlier this month, it was made clear that Wilson would not be part of Nuno Espirito Santo‘s squad moving forward.
The experienced striker joined the Hammers on a free transfer in the summer after his deal with Newcastle United had expired.
However, the former Newcastle centre-forward has gone on to score just four goals in 18 appearances in all competitions for West Ham (Transfermarkt).
Out of 10, how CONFIDENT are you that Nuno can still save West Ham?
Beating QPR in the FA Cup is a start…
Remarkably, Wilson has already been linked with a move to Sevilla.
Quite where the 33-year-old will end up remains to be seen. However, what is clear is that the deal to sign Wilson was doomed from the start.
And his recent interview with Sky Sports proves that.
West Ham fans will feel disillusioned after Callum Wilson interview
With Wilson set to be released from his contract at the London Stadium, Hammers fans will have some serious questions that need answering.
Wilson recently took part in a 15-minute interview with Sky Sports, and discussed his time in the game as well as his ambitions for the future.
However, eagle-eyed Hammers fans would have noticed one very prominent thing during the 15-minute interview.
Wilson mentioned West Ham only once, and when he did, it was regarding the hat-trick he scored against them for Bournemouth way back in 2015.

There are two ways to look at this.
Number one, why was a player signed who has such little interest in the football club in the first place?
Or two, why has a player been signed and then made to feel so detached from the club that the only time he mentioned West Ham in a 15-minute interview was when he talked about scoring a hat-trick against them?
It’s fair to say that the latter is probably the option that needs to be explored.
West Ham fans’ disillusion is perfectly understandable
Wilson was a very good striker in his day but it’s clear to see that he’s past his best now.
It’s fine to debate the merits of West Ham signing him in the first place but the more important question should be: Why has he been made to feel so ostracised by West Ham?
Nuno admits these four could all be leaving West Ham…
How do you feel about what could be a BIG January overhaul?
This all stems from the club’s haphazard transfer strategy.
The Hammers owners never have a clear plan when it comes to player recruitment.
Players are often signed on the recommendations of agents while a lack of a clear and discernible playing style on the pitch means that there is never any method or thought behind the club’s transfer activity.
Wilson’s bizarre interview with Sky Sports perfectly summed up exactly where West Ham are right now as a club.
And the sad thing is that it feels like nothing will ever change under the current ownership.
