Callum Wilson has just almost completely ignored his time at West Ham United during a 15-minute interview about his career.
No matter how one may feel about his time at West Ham United – one that appears to be coming to an end – Wilson has enjoyed a remarkable career.
Though persistent injuries have derailed him at times, the striker fought his way up from non-league to becoming a prolific Premier League striker and one who represented England in the 2022 World Cup.
Nuno admits these four could all be leaving West Ham…
How do you feel about what could be a BIG January overhaul?
Even eight starts since joining West Ham have yielded four goals, although there are some obvious frustrations about exactly why the club saw fit to turn to him when their other striker was Niclas Fullkrug.
Wilson is expected to leave West Ham, having scored more goals against them than he has for them.
That fact doesn’t appear to be lost on him.
Callum Wilson only talks about scoring against West Ham in 15-minute interview
The 33-year-old was asked about his journey in football by Sky Sports.
Surprisingly, in a 15-minute interview, Wilson does not mention his time actually playing for West Ham.
In fact, the only mention the Hammers actually get is when Wilson talks about the hat-trick he scored while a Bournemouth player way back in 2015.
He said: “I remember Theo Walcott, we played a game against each other at some point and he was like ‘Ah, I remember when you just came onto the scene and I thought, who’s this kid who scored a hat-trick?’
“It was against West Ham unfortunately.”
Out of 10, how CONFIDENT are you that Nuno can still save West Ham?
Beating QPR in the FA Cup is a start…
The club Callum Wilson has now been told to join after West Ham
Wilson has been urged to sign for Celtic by former Hoops defender Alan Stubbs.
In his view, Wilson would instantly become the best striker in the Scottish Premiership.
“I think he’s quality, there’s no doubt he’s quality,” he said. “If Celtic were to get Wilson, and he is playing to the levels that he can be, he’s the best striker in Scotland.”

Sevilla have also been linked with Wilson, as well as Leicester.
It appears he will have options despite falling to third choice in the pecking order at West Ham following the arrivals of Taty Castellanos and Pablo Felipe.
Nuno Espirito Santo has confirmed that the club have been honest with Wilson, who has previously been tipped for a move to the Saudi Pro League.
It looked a strange signing at the time and while he has scored goals, it’s not exactly surprising that the move hasn’t fully worked out.
