Newcastle linked Harrison Ashby has removed all West Ham related pictures from his Twitter profile heading.

The Hammers have just rejected a bid from Newcastle for Ashby, 21, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

Sheth claims that negotiations are ongoing between the two clubs, and states that West Ham are open to selling Ashby this month rather than risk losing him for nothing in the summer.

The 21-year-old Hammers right-back has been linked with a move to St James’ Park for quite some time now.

I always held out hope that the Scotland under-21 international would commit to a new long-term deal at the London Stadium.

However, it now seems like the writing is on the wall…

Harrison Ashby makes worrying Twitter decision

The Hammers youngster used to have a snap of himself in a West Ham shirt as his profile and Twitter heading pictures.

He has now removed both of those though.

What’s left is nothing but a generic black background with a white outline. Is it a coincidence that those colours are intrinsically linked with Newcastle? I think not.

Losing Ashby to Newcastle will be a massive blow for West Ham in my opinion.

The Scotland under-21 international has absolutely everything needed to succeed at the very highest level of the game.

The Hammers have lost plenty of exciting young talents in recent years including the likes of Pierre Ekwah, Sonny Perkins and Aji Alese. The 21-year-old right-back would undoubtedly be the biggest loss of them all though.

Harrison Ashby updating his Twitter account is a clear signal to me that he’s off. And that’s a huge disappointment as far as I’m concerned.
