West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen appears likely to be signing for London rivals Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
Every Hammers supporter has been dreading the day the goalscoring winger leaves the club for some time.
Unfortunately, West Ham’s relegation to the Championship might have been the deciding factor in convincing Bowen to move.
The 29-year-old is simply too good not to be playing in the Premier League in the prime years of his career.
Bowen moving to Chelsea would make sense for multiple reasons, not least staying in London, so it is a realistic possibility.
West Ham should take advantage of the Blues’ bloated squad by demanding that a talented player be included in the deal.

West Ham should target Marc Guiu if Jarrod Bowen leaves
West Ham and Chelsea recently negotiated a successful deal: Axel Disasi’s short-term loan move in January.
Disasi was arguably the Hammers’ best player in the second half of the season and gave them a chance of avoiding relegation.
The East London club would have loved to sign Disasi permanently this summer, but their relegation has ruled that out.
Instead, West Ham should target a different out-of-favour Chelsea player as part of the potential Bowen transfer.
Former Barcelona striker Marc Guiu would be an excellent addition to Nuno Espirito Santo’s Championship squad.
Guiu joined the Blues two seasons ago and enjoyed a solid debut campaign, scoring six goals in seven Conference League games.
However, the Spaniard only scored twice in 14 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea this season.

With Emmanuel Emegha set to join Joao Pedro and Liam Delap at Stamford Bridge this summer, Guiu is expected to leave.
Although he may prefer a move to a top-flight club, West Ham would be an ideal stepping stone for Guiu’s development.
Starting every game in the Championship would surely be more beneficial than being a squad player elsewhere.
Guiu’s skill set also suits England’s second division perfectly; nobody can question his work rate and physicality.
Therefore, while it may not be a flashy signing, a loan or permanent move for Guiu would be a shrewd piece of business for West Ham.
Not only that, but it would also soften the almighty blow of Bowen joining Chelsea for a cut-price fee.
