According to The Independent, Chelsea are giving consideration to the idea of signing Bowen this summer.
It’s said that the Blues realise that their young squad could benefit from some added leadership, with their lack of experience heavily cited as a reason for their struggles during the 2025/26 campaign.

The report adds that there is a feeling here in east London that West Ham might actually have to sell Bowen after all.
They also claim that while West Ham value Bowen at £50million, there’s a theory among industry figures that clubs interested in the 29-year-old will try to do a deal for around £40million.

Bowen’s leadership style has been questioned
While not to take unnecessary digs at one of West Ham’s best players in the modern era, the fact is that Bowen’s style of leadership has been criticised.
For many supporters, he is simply not vocal enough to warrant holding the captaincy at West Ham.
As such, the fact that Chelsea may turn to him to fill their leadership void may jar somewhat.
None of this is to say that Bowen is incapable of fulfilling that role, just that it has been something he has been often criticised for at West Ham this season.
