West Ham are expected to sell several key players this summer following their relegation from the Premier League.
They reportedly need to raise more than £150 million from player sales, with Mateus Fernandes, Crysencio Summerville and others likely to leave.
The Hammers will also need to make some shrewd signings if they want to achieve promotion from the Championship.
Given West Ham’s tight budget, here are five Premier League free agents they should target in this transfer window.
Which West Ham player are you backing to have the best World Cup? 🌍
No Bowen or Fernandes, but plenty of Hammers in action! ⚒️
Raul Jimenez (Fulham)
Raul Jimenez would be an ambitious signing for West Ham, given that he scored nine Premier League goals this season.
The Mexican international is set to leave Fulham when his three-year contract expires at the end of the month.
Jimenez has been linked with a return to Wolves, which could make it harder for West Ham to convince him to join.
However, that does not mean the Hammers should not at least try to sign the 35-year-old goalscorer on a free transfer.
Dennis Cirkin (Sunderland)
Dennis Cirkin’s contract at Sunderland will expire later this month, paving the way for him to join another club.
Cirkin played 39 Championship games last year, as the Black Cats achieved promotion to the Premier League, but they signed Reinildo to replace him.
The Englishman has since fallen out of Regis Le Bris’ favour, making only 10 first-team appearances in all competitions this season.
Having grown up in London, Cirkin would be an excellent replacement for El-Hadji Malick Diouf if he is sold this summer.

Ross Barkley (Aston Villa)
Ross Barkley is unlikely to drop down to the Championship, given that he reportedly has interest from multiple Premier League clubs.
However, the midfielder’s best season since he left Everton in 2018 was the 2023/24 campaign with Luton Town.
Barkley thrived as the main man at Kenilworth Road, and he could enjoy a similar experience at West Ham.
He could realistically contribute more than 10 goals and 10 assists as the Hammers’ talisman in the Championship next season.
Adam Webster (Brighton)
The signing of Adam Webster from Brighton would come with a significant injury risk, having missed the entire 2025/26 season.
The centre-back suffered a torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) last summer, which he is still recovering from.
However, the 31-year-old was a quality Premier League defender before his injury and could have plenty more to offer.
West Ham should seriously consider offering Webster the opportunity to find his feet in the Championship.

Tyrell Malacia (Man Utd)
Tyrell Malacia’s move to Manchester United can only be described as a flop, as he made just 50 appearances in four seasons.
The Dutchman has never fully recovered from his serious knee injury in 2023 and was arguably not good enough for Man Utd in the first place.
Playing for West Ham in the Championship would be a far more suitable challenge for Malacia once he departs Old Trafford.
The 26-year-old could rebuild his career at the London Stadium and potentially earn a second chance in the Premier League.
