Spurs fans taunted Everton with a West Ham chant which came through loud and clear on live TV but it’s the same old story.
One of the biggest drawbacks about West Ham’s precarious position in the Premier League relegation battle is being backed into a corner and hoping for a Tottenham Hotspur win.
For the last FOUR Premier League game weeks West Ham fans have found themselves having to will their bitter rivals to win as Tottenham faced the Hammers’ direct relegation rivals in consecutive matches.
But in true Spursy style they have managed to win just once – against Forest – while losing to Wolves and throwing away leads to draw with both Southampton and now Everton in the dying seconds.

West Ham moved up to 14th after a vital 1-0 win over Southampton on Sunday.
And many Hammers fans tuned in to watch Everton take on Spurs hoping for a favour from their foes.

Tottenham’s travelling support took great pleasure in belting out several renditions of “You’re going down with the West Ham” to the home fans at Goodison Park.

It was Spurs star Harry Kane who went down fastest, though, dropping to the floor like he’d been poleaxed when caught in the face by Abdoulaye Doucoure.
The Everton midfielder was sent off and Tottenham then got a penalty which Kane, miraculously recovered, smashed home.
If it was any other side West Ham fans could have gone to bed safe in the knowledge the game was done and dusted.

But this is Spurs we’re talking about. So, inevitably, despite having a 1-0 lead and playing against 10 men for over half an hour, Tottenham conceded a potentially damaging equaliser at the death.
It meant Everton moved level on points with West Ham but sit one place lower by virtue of an inferior goal difference.
What’s that old saying: “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.” What about three times?
Unreliable Spurs aren’t fooling anyone anymore, though, after seeing off another top class manager only to show the same old frailties and prove him right a week later.
The moral of the story for West Ham is, if we’re relying on Tottenham for favours then relegate us now.
