The Premier League games for this weekend are off, and it’s good news for Newcastle but bad news for West Ham.
West Ham were scheduled to play host to Newcastle at the London Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

However, following the sad passing of Queen Elizabeth II last night, all Premier League games have now been called off as a mark of respect.
My personal opinion is that it would have been better to play the games, with a minute’s silence before them, with the national anthem blaring out up and down the country.
I do see both sides of the coin though.
One thing’s for sure, Newcastle won’t be too disappointed that the game against the Hammers has been called off…
Premier League games off – good news for Newcastle, terrible for West Ham
The Magpies had a whole host of injury problems heading into the game against the Hammers.
Newcastle’s three best players – Bruno Guimarães, Allan Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson were all big doubts for Sunday’s game at the London Stadium.
David Moyes would have fancied his side’s chances of beating Newcastle with those three players not available for selection.
Even if one or two of them were missing, West Ham would surely have been favourites to win.
So with the Premier League games now being called off, Newcastle have been given a reprieve.
There will likely be no Premier League action until October 1st, with next weekend’s games highly unlikely to take place and a two-week international break scheduled straight after that.
The timing of the postponement could not have come at a better time for Newcastle. The last thing that West Ham needed was to wait for three weeks until we play another Premier League game again though.
Having said all of that, this could be a good time for everyone to reflect and take stock. This is about Her Majesty the Queen, may she rest in peace.
