Michail Antonio is surely finished at West Ham with David Moyes chasing 22-year-old striker from London rivals

West Ham United striker Michail Antonio could well be finished at the London Stadium if the latest reports are to be believed.

Michail Antonio joined West Ham from Nottingham Forest for £7 million in the summer of 2015 (Daily Mail), and he has gone on to be a great player for us, especially since David Moyes took over, with 77 goals and 45 assists in 290 games to his name (Transfermarkt).

However, things have turned sour for the 33-year-old at the London Stadium over the past 12 months or so, with more effort seemingly going into his podcast than his performances for the Hammerssomething that Gabby Agbonlahor absolutely battered him for last week.

Antonio has been in dreadful form for West Ham this season with just two goals to his name so far, but Moyes was surprisingly still happy with his all-round performances according to reports.

That seems to have all changed now though. Moyes left Antonio out of the starting XI for our last two games against Olympiacos and Nottingham Forest respectively. That was after the Jamaica international inexplicably took the ball from Said Benrahma’s path against Brentford 10 days ago, and thus prevented the Algerian from tapping into an open net.

Michail Antonio could be finished at West Ham

According to a report from TEAMtalk, the Hammers are eyeing up a January transfer window move to sign Armando Broja from Chelsea.

The 22-year-old would be the perfect signing for West Ham and would be a major upgrade on Antonio as far as I’m concerned.

Moyes has been heavily linked with a move to sign the Albania international over the past couple of years, and most recently in the summer.

The Hammers were actually believed to be close to signing the Chelsea striker leading up to the World Cup break last year, but he suffered an ACL injury in December that put paid to a January exit from Stamford Bridge.

He has returned from that setback now though, and West Ham need to go all out for his signature.

Broja is willing to run the channels, is very strong when playing with his back to goal and is incredibly hard to dispossess. He is a pretty good finisher as well when presented with a goalscoring opportunity.

And if Moyes brings the 22-year-old Chelsea forward to West Ham in January, Michail Antonio’s days at the London Stadium will almost certainly be numbered.
