Talented winger Said Benrahma seems to be wasting away at West Ham United under the management of David Moyes.
The 27-year-old joined West Ham for around £30 million from Brentford in January 2021 (The Daily Mail).

The Algerian ace looked in fine fettle at the start of this season, but rather than give him a prolonged stint in the starting XI, Moyes continues to bring him in and out of the team.

Benrahma seems a complete shadow of the man who arrived at the London Stadium from Brentford two years ago. Having been criticised by Moyes for trying to unlock defences, and sometimes losing the ball, he now seems to be totally petrified of losing possession and more often than not, just plays the simple backwards or sideways pass.
This makes him completely redundant. Flair players need to take risks in order to be effective – you need look no further than Kevin De Bruyne for evidence.
The Algerian is unable to express himself at West Ham and in my view, he’s being held back by Moyes…
Said Benrahma has been totally ruined by David Moyes
Firstly, we have to make this clear.
Benrahma needs to do more when he is given the chance to shine. He needs to try things that are seen as game-changing, otherwise there is no point in him playing to begin with.
However, it is very clear that Moyes’s comments in the press have affected the Algerian negatively.
The 27-year-old looks like a man who is totally devoid of any kind of confidence or belief at the moment.

Benrahma has been in such poor form of late that he has missed out on international action for his country.
Algeria coach Djamel Belmadi didn’t include Benrahma in his 24-man squad to face Guinea and Nigeria during the current international break.
On face value, quite how a Premier League footballer who was signed for £30 million not too long ago doesn’t get in the Algeria squad seems truly baffling.
Delve deeper though and it’s totally understandable. The 27-year-old seems utterly lost at the moment. He probably needs a move away from West Ham in order to get his career back on track.
His failure to succeed at the London Stadium has been really surprising after this brilliance at Brentford. Even West Ham’s own website described him as an ‘exceptional’ player when he move to East London.
For some reason, Said Benrahma is not a David Moyes type player. Whether he was a David Sullivan signing rather than a Moyes one is up for debate. If that was the case though, it would certainly explain a lot wouldn’t it…
