David Moyes continues to ignore ridiculous Said Benrahma stat, and it has already cost West Ham United twice this season.

West Ham have been really struggling from the penalty spot recently.

The Hammers have missed two spot-kicks already this season, with both Declan Rice and Jarrod Bowen failing from 12 yards out.

And it was the same story last season, with Mark Noble and Michail Antonio missing from the spot.

David Moyes has just been speaking about his side’s struggles with penalty kicks of late.

The answer to West Ham’s problems is staring Moyes in the face in the form of Said Benrahma though.

The Algerian possesses an exceptional penalty record. So why on earth isn’t he our regular spot-kick taker?

David Moyes must make Said Benrahma West Ham’s penalty taker

The former Brentford man, signed for £30 million (talkSPORT), has often incurred the wrath of Moyes since moving to the London Stadium, unfairly so in my opinion.

Meanwhile, his favourites like Pablo Fornals continue to get a free ride without any criticism, in spite of numerous poor performances.

Jarrod Bowen is another one of those favourites.

Now, the 25-year-old’s form has improved drastically over the past month or so, but he did miss a penalty against Liverpool on Wednesday night.

That cost us dearly as West Ham ended up losing the game.

It’s time for a change in my opinion, and the fact that Said Benrahma continues to be overlooked as the club’s penalty taker is beyond a joke.

Benrahma has scored seven penalties from seven attempts during his time in the game (Transfermarkt). Aside from that 100% record, he also smashed home a brilliant penalty during our Carabao Cup shootout win over Manchester City last season.

Either Moyes isn’t aware of Benrahma’s record from the spot or he is purposely ignoring it due to an agenda against him. Whichever one it is, really isn’t acceptable either way.

Moyes needs to make Benrahma West Ham’s penalty taker now, or risk further damaging misses from 12 yards out in the future.
