David Moyes must make very bold Pablo Fornals decision after West Ham defeat to Liverpool

David Moyes has no excuse to start Pablo Fornals regularly for West Ham anymore, whilst leaving Said Benrahma on the sidelines.

Moyes chose to start the 26-year-old Spaniard for the Hammers against Liverpool last night, somewhat strangely it must be said.

It meant that Gianluca Scamacca and Jarrod Bowen had no creativity or flair in behind them. And Fornals really was so poor.

When Said Benrahma was introduced with a third of the match remaining, he made an immediate impact down the left hand side.

We all know that Benrahma isn’t one of Moyes’s favourite players for one reason or another.

But now the Scot has nowhere to hide, and he cannot afford to start Fornals ahead of the Algerian anymore…

For our home clash with Bournemouth, I really don’t want to see Fornals starting ahead of Benrahma again.

In fact, I don’t want to see it happening anytime in the foreseeable future.

When the Spaniard starts, he offers us absolutely zero penetration or pace, especially when he’s deployed out wide on the left.

And that’s exactly what Benrahma offers us. He is the most creative player outside of the top six teams this season.

Sure, the 27-year-old loses the ball sometimes but that’s what happens when you’re a creative player trying to make things happen!

Just look at the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Bruno Fernandes.

If Moyes expects Benrahma to record assists and goals on a consistent basis, then he needs to be prepared to accept that he will waste the ball sometimes, it’s as simple as that!

And in order to give Benny a consistent run in the West Ham team, David Moyes needs to drop Pablo Fornals as a matter or urgency.
