Ben Foster has just made a truly ridiculous claim about ageing West Ham United goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.
The 37-year-old Hammers stopper has surprisingly held down the number one goalkeeper spot at the London Stadium this season, with Alphonse Areola on the bench.
Now don’t get me wrong, Fab has been a fine player for us over the past four-and-a-half years, since joining the Hammers from Swansea City for £7 million in the summer of 2018 (talkSPORT).
In my opinion, the 37-year-old is well past his best now, and shouldn’t be a regular starter for West Ham. David Moyes obviously disagrees though.

Ben Foster makes Lukasz Fabianski claim
The 39-year-old now retired goalkeeper played for clubs such as Manchester United, West Brom and Watford during his time in the game.
So you would think that he knows what he’s talking about. His latest claim was a rather strange one though…
Speaking about the Hammers stopper on his official YouTube channel, Foster declared:
“Proper goalie!”
And then after it was suggested that Fabianski has been poor recently, Foster replied:
What are you on about? No, he’s not [been poor], he’s world-class. He’s world-class.
Labelling Fabianski as world-class is one of the biggest overstatements I have ever heard in my life.
As mentioned earlier, Fabianski has been a very solid goalkeeper throughout the years.
The ex-Swansea man has been on the downward curve of his career for the past couple of years now. In fact, he never has been a ‘world-class’ goalkeeper – just a very solid one.
Ben Foster’s comments on Lukasz Fabianski were just a bit silly in my opinion.
