West Ham United are deep in discussions to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United this summer.

Now there has been a fresh update regarding the talks between West Ham and Manchester United, and I think it means Aaron Wan-Bissaka will be London Stadium bound imminently.

It has been claimed that Man United are desperately trying to sell the 26-year-old right-back to the Hammers.

Unsurprisingly, this is a deal that Julen Lopetegui is very keen to push through. The Spaniard needs to bring in a big upgrade on Vladimir Coufal as a matter of urgency this summer.

Wan-Bissaka is certainly head and shoulders above the 31-year-old.

He would be a sensational signing for the Hammers, what with his blistering pace, tenacious tackling and incredible energy and stamina levels.

The Man United man isn’t the greatest going forward but he’s one of the very best defenders around and let’s face it, that’s exactly what we need right now.

Back in 2020, Jamie Carragher described the former Crystal Palace man as the ‘best one-on-one defender in the world’ (Daily Mail).

Now a big update has dropped regarding the Hammers’ hopes of signing Wan-Bissaka this summer…

Aaron Wan-Bissaka to West Ham is surely imminent

This deal seems to me like one that will undoubtedly get wrapped up sooner rather than later.

That’s mainly because both clubs are so keen to get it done.

And now, a new update has just been provided by someone with a very good track record of calling West Ham transfers correctly.

According to Ben Jacobs – the journalist who was first to break the Lucas Paqueta to West Ham transfer in 2022 – Wan-Bissaka talks are progressing between the Hammers and the Red Devils.

However, there is still one issue that needs to be ironed out:

Surely the two clubs will meet somewhere in the middle regarding a fee for the defender, let’s say around £12.5 million.

Let’s have it right, Man United need to move the former Crystal Palace man on in order to free up space for Noussair Mazraoui, so they will be very keen to sell.

I believe that if West Ham manage to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka for anything like £12.5 million, it would be an unbelievably good deal for us.

The 26-year-old is on another level entirely to Coufal, and he’d add some much-needed pace to our backline.

Let’s face it, even if we have to pay £15 million for Wan-Bissaka, it would still be good value for us in this day and age.

Hopefully the powers that be at West Ham manage to get a deal to sign him wrapped up as soon as possible, because I feel like the addition of a new right-back should be one of Lopetegui’s main priorities.
