West Ham fans are still in the dark over which player has won the Hammer of the Year award for the 2020/21 season.

The HOTY accolade is usually handed out a couple of weeks after the end of the season.
This time around it’s been different, however.
There have been suggestions that the award will be handed out during the build-up to the Betway Cup clash with Atalanta next weekend.
As things stand, however, we are none the wiser.

Declan Rice, Vladimir Coufal and Tomas Soucek are the frontrunners to win the HOTY award.
Angelo Ogbonna would have been in the mix as well had he not suffered a long-term injury in February.
When will Hammer of the Year be announced?
Let’s hope that West Ham’s best player is announced soon.
It is somewhat farcical that this has dragged on this long. It is what it is though.

We think that Coufal should be given the accolade. The 28-year-old was quite simply brilliant for us last season and he bleeds Claret and Blue.
In all fairness, however, whether it’s Coufal, Soucek or Rice who wins the award, they will be fully deserving of the honour.
We have to find out soon, surely!
