What Thilo Kehrer did to West Ham fans at end of the Wolves win is simply brilliant and shows exactly why he’s such a huge hit.
Most West Ham fans knew very little about Kehrer when the club moved to sign the defender from PSG.
Kehrer had entered the final year of his contract in Paris which meant West Ham were able to get the German international for just £10m.
And that is already looking like one of the bargains of the season, not just for West Ham, but across the Premier League.
It says a lot about Kehrer’s performances so far that despite giving away a penalty on his Prem debut, scoring an own goal against bitter rivals Spurs and being criticised by pundits for his part in goals conceded against Chelsea and Everton – he is already a big fan favourite at West Ham.

Kehrer’s speed, passing, enthusiasm, desire and positional play has seriously impressed West Ham fans so far.
Now he has added another string to his West Ham bow, being the club’s best right-back.
It is not just on the pitch where Kehrer is already having an influence, though.
The German was excellent at right-back in West Ham’s much needed 2-0 win over Wolves at the weekend.
But what Kehrer did to West Ham fans at end of the Wolves win is simply brilliant and shows exactly why he’s such a huge hit.
As the video below shows, with 92 minutes gone Kehrer chased the fleet-footed Chem Campbell as he attacked down West Ham’s right hand side.
The game was already won but Kehrer sprinted back and put in a crunching challenge to win the ball.
There were a fair few empty seats at the London Stadium anyway due to rail strikes.
And as a result – especially with the win already in the bag – the atmosphere was somewhat subdued.
Kehrer’s challenge got a cheer but as he rose to his feet he bellowed at the West Ham fans to liven up and make their voices heard.
Not only does it demonstrate just how comfortable and at home Kehrer already feels at West Ham.

But it also shows what a true leader he is and will be going forward for the Hammers.
To feel confident enough to try and get the fans going by rallying the quiet home crowd is exactly the sort of characters we want, need and have historically loved.
You just love to see it. What a player, what a leader and what a signing.
Big thumbs up to Moyes and Rob Newman on this one.
