West Ham officials are set to meet Bologna Director of Football Riccardo Bigon today about potentially signing Jerdy Schouten in the summer.
That’s according to a report from CalcioNapoli24 in Italy who claim that Hammers boss David Moyes is keen to bring the 25-year-old midfielder to the London Stadium before the start of next season.
Central midfield is an area at West Ham United where Moyes will be desperate to bolster in the summer transfer window.
Mark Noble is set to retire whilst Alex Kral will almost certainly be sent back to Spartak Moscow after a disastrous loan spell with the Hammers this season.
This summer transfer window will be hugely important for Moyes and West Ham. And it seems as though the Scot is already getting the wheels in motion to strengthen his ranks at the London Stadium…
West Ham to meet Bologna Director of Football about signing midfielder
CalcioNapoli24 in Italy claims that Hammers officials are set to meet Bologna Director of Football Riccardo Bigon today to discuss the potential signing of Dutch midfielder Jerdy Schouten.
He is a defensive midfielder by trade but can also operate further forward if need be.
In 15 Serie A appearances so far this season, the 25-year-old has bagged one goal and one assist. During those outings, Schouten has averaged 1.5 tackles, two interceptions and 1.6 clearances per game. He has also made an average of 48.3 passes per game and has recorded an 84.9% completion rate (Who Scored).
The Dutch ace also fits the physical profile of player Moyes usually likes to sign.
Schouten stands at 6ft 1in tall and is incredibly robust, powerful and energetic. He also possesses impressive technical ability.
Sempre Inter claims that Bologna could demand around €15 million (£12.8 million) for the midfielder. That’s great value in our opinion.
And we would be more than happy if Moyes manages to being Jerdy Schouten to West Ham after club officials meet with Bologna’s Director of Football today.
