Claret & Hugh claimed that David Moyes rejected the chance to sign the 29-year-old in the end, however.

Watford ended up signing him in the end. And he hasn’t disappointed for the Hornets.
West Ham left with big regret after Josh King scores stunning hat-trick
The Norwegian was on fire for Watford yesterday.
King proved his class with three excellently taken goals.
Sure, he’s far from world-class, but the Watford ace would have undoubtedly done a job for us.
King does not stop working hard and running for his team. He offers a great focal point in attack what with his ability to hold the ball up with his back to goal.
He proved yesterday that he is a very good finisher as well.
Signing him in the summer on a free transfer surely should have been an absolute no-brainer for West Ham.
David Moyes clearly didn’t see it that way, however.
And perhaps the Scot might just regret that decision now after King’s exploits yesterday.
