Vladimir Coufal has a chance to impress David Moyes for West Ham against Genk tonight and he can't afford to disappoint

Vladimir Coufal has a huge chance to impress David Moyes when West Ham take on Genk in the Europa League Group H clash tonight.

The 29-year-old is in line to start for the Hammers having been absent from the starting XI since our defeat to Brentford at the start of last month.

Ben Johnson filled in for Coufal after the Czech ace suffered a groin injury in late September.

Surprisingly, the 21-year-old has kept Coufal out of the team ever since, even after the former Slavia Prague ace returned from injury.

Johnson has been truly incredible. And Vlad now has his work cut-out if he is to take back the starting right-back spot.

Coufal has big chance to impress Moyes

The 29-year-old will surely get a run-out tonight against Genk.

The fact that he was alongside David Moyes for media duties last night means that he will likely start the game against the Belgians.

And the right-back must show to David Moyes that he offers just as much as Johnson both defensively and going forward.

We all know that Coufal is the better, more all-rounded performer than Johnson.

The 21-year-old has improved so much this season, however, and he is now really pushing Vlad hard for his place in the team.

The problem that the Czech international has is that Johnson has been so impressive that Moyes is now in a position whereby it is almost impossible to drop him.

Tonight’s clash with Genk will give the Scot the perfect chance to rotate his side, however.

Coufal needs 90 minutes under his belt.

And if he is given that tonight, he cannot afford to have a mediocre game. Because if he does, Johnson’s place at right-back will be even more secure than it already is.
