UEFA have named West Ham star Pablo Fornals as the player of the week and given David Moyes something to think about.

West Ham ran out comfortable 3-0 victors at FCSB to make history by becoming the first team to win every group game in the Europa Conference League.

Having already won the group last week, Moyes was afforded the luxury of leaving a host of key West Ham stars back in London.

But the Scot revealed a few first team stars actually asked to be included for the match, one being fan favourite Fornals.

The Cockney Carzola has endured a tough time of late, losing his place in the first XI and failing to hit the heights in his performance levels of the last two campaigns with West Ham.

The Spaniard showed great professionalism and leadership by pushing to play in the dead rubber over in Romania.

And he meant business, scoring twice in a win made all the more special by the involvement of nine academy starlets.

Fornals was praised by his manager after the game.

Now UEFA have named West Ham star Fornals as the player of the week and given Moyes something to think about.

Posting on their official Europa Conference League social media accounts, UEFA announced that Fornals has been named the competition’s player of the week.

That is some going given UEFA have to pick from the 500 plus players used by the 32 teams in action in a game week.

It is great to see Fornals getting some love and it may just give Moyes a bit of a selection headache for West Ham’s game against Crystal Palace this weekend.

Said Benrahma has the shirt at the moment and was one of West Ham’s better players in the defeat to Man United last time out.

There have been calls for Moyes to ditch his approach of playing three defensive midfielders in favour of getting more creative players in the side.

Whatever happens Fornals is showing what a good pro and team player he is by keeping his head down and focusing on doing the business on the pitch to win back his place.

The rest is down to Moyes.
