Tomas Soucek has offered a clue as to why West Ham did so well last season, when speaking about the Czech Republic’s win over Holland on Sunday night, as quoted by WHUFC.com.

The Czechs put in a superb team performance against the Dutch and eventually ran out as 2-0 winners.
Jaroslav Silhavy’s men now have a quarter-final clash against Denmark to look forward to.
They could face England in the semi-finals if we win our next two games and they beat the Danes.
Tomas Soucek offers clue as to why West Ham did so well last season
The 26-year-old midfielder is a key figure for the Czech Republic. Much like he is for the Hammers.
And when speaking to reporters, the former Slavia Prague ace offered an insight as to why hard work often prevails against talent, as quoted by WHUFC.com:
“We work hard and that proved again today. The Netherlands was the favourite – they have one star next to another – but we didn’t let them into the game so much and I’m very happy how we ended it in the second half.”
That really is a great insight into the mentality in the West Ham dressing room.
David Moyes has a very good team at the London Stadium. That can’t be argued. But there are certainly more talented groups of players in the Premier League.
You can’t substitute for hard work, however. And there aren’t many harder working teams in the top flight than West Ham.
There definitely aren’t any players who run more than Soucek. He covered more ground than anyone in the Premier League last season.

And if big Tomas and his teammates keep that kind of mentality and work-rate up next season, I’m sure we will surprise a few more teams. Hopefully in Europe as well!
