David Moyes’s job as West Ham manager is to get the very best out of each and every player he has available to him at the London Stadium.
Two of the Hammers best and most consistent players since the start of last season have been Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal.
The Czech duo really have been magnificent and they will go down as huge bargains for West Ham.
What makes Soucek and Coufal so good and well-liked is their incredible work-rate and commitment to the cause. The midfielder and the right-back are well known for coming in to training on their days off (WHUFC).
The West Ham pair have been well off their best form this season, however. They have both played so much football and something needs to give.
Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal must be told to stay away from Rush Green
It is so clear and obvious to see that both Hammers players are in desperate need of a rest.
Now, Moyes can’t really afford to give them a couple of weeks off. They are just too important to our team to take that risk.
What the Scot can do, however, is give them one or two days off training per week.
They will both undoubtedly ask to come in anyway, but Moyes must be firm and not take no for an answer. Getting Soucek and Coufal back firing on all cylinders could make all the difference for us this season.
It’s all well and good them coming in and training on their own on their days off. But it’s not doing them any good in the long-run.
It’s time for Moysie to step in.
