talkSPORT presenter Andy Goldstein believes that Newcastle could target a move for West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek in the wake of the Saudi Investment Group’s £300m takeover.
Newcastle are now expected to be big players in the transfer market in the upcoming transfers windows.
The Saudi Public Investment Fund who now own the Magpies are worth in excess of £320 billion.
There is set to be huge change at St James’ Park over the next few weeks, months and years.
talkSPORT host says Newcastle could target West Ham ace after £300m takeover
The Toon have already been linked with a whole host of world class names.
Perhaps they will be better off building slowly like Manchester City did at the start, however.
And West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek is a name who could be on Newcastle’s radar according to talkSPORT host Andy Goldstein:
‘I’ve written a list of players I think they can go for…Soucek. I can’t see Declan Rice leaving West Ham.”
West Ham signed Soucek from Slavia Prague for around £15 million in the summer of 2020 (Daily Mail). That came after he enjoyed a really successful five-month loan spell with the Hammers.
The 26-year-old is one of the most important players David Moyes has at his disposal at the London Stadium.
Selling him should not even be an option.
If Newcastle do come in for the Czech Republic international, however, it may well be almost impossible to resist them, what with their incredible new found wealth.
One thing in our favour, however, is Soucek’s commitment to and love for West Ham United. That should stand us in very good stead.
And with his mates Vladimir Coufal and Alex Kral at the London Stadium, we can’t see big Tom going anywhere anytime soon.
