Sky Sports have posted a Declan Rice appreciation tweet, highlighting a truly remarkable statistic that he recorded last night.

The 23-year-old Hammers star was unbelievable against Bournemouth last night, and played a key role in our vitally important 2-0 victory.

Rice has come on leaps and bounds over the past couple of years, and he has firmly established himself as one of the world’s best central midfielders.

One thing that makes Rice so good is his robustness. He’s playing in the most physically demanding league in world football, week in week out whilst rarely ever getting injured, and what’s more, he relishes it.

Dec was in superb form for West Ham against Bournemouth last night, and one thing he did was particularly impressive…

Sky Sports post Declan Rice appreciation tweet

The Hammers ace was absolutely everywhere last night.

Rice had 86 touches, made three key passes, two tackles, two clearances, one interception and completed 10 successful long passes from 11 attempted (Who Scored).

One of the 23-year-old’s stats on the night stood out in particular though.

Rice completed a mightily impressive 69 of his 70 attempted passes last night – that’s a completion rate of 98.6%.

And Sky Sports posted a Declan Rice appreciation tweet after West Ham beat Bournemouth:

98.6% is a truly amazing statistic, especially when considering the fact that 11 of those passes were ‘long balls’.

Declan Rice is absolutely integral to everything good that the Hammers do, and he is a huge influence for us both defensively and in the final third.

Keeping him at the London Stadium will be pivotal for David Moyes, if we are to make any kind of genuine progress as a club over the next few years.

His performance against Bournemouth last night highlighted just how much he has to offer, at both ends of the pitch.

And the Sky Sports appreciation tweet for Declan Rice should make everyone stand up and realise just how good he is.
