Simon Jordan has just put the cat amongst the pigeons after Declan Rice spoke out about his ambition to win things yesterday.
The timing of the comments from the 23-year-old were really strange in my opinion. Dec is currently out in Qatar at the World Cup on international duty with England.
Meanwhile, West Ham are sitting in 16th spot in the Premier League table, just two points clear of the relegation places.

Three players West Ham must sign when Declan Rice is sold
Many Hammers fans are fuming about the timing of Dec’s comments. Most of us already knew that he would be leaving in the summer of 2023. But for him to come out and be so brazen about his ambitions, when we are in such a precarious position in the table was just unacceptable in my opinion.
The 23-year-old obviously wants to move on at the end of the season, but where will he move to? Simon Jordan has highlighted how he might have a problem…
Declan Rice criticised by Simon Jordan
The notorious talkSPORT pundit has really put the cat amongst the pigeons regarding the 23-year-old West Ham midfielder.
The Hammers will allegedly demand north of £100 million for Rice…maybe even as much as £150 million (The Athletic)!
Jordan suggested that there’ll not be any clubs out there who are willing to pay anywhere near that much for the West Ham man:

I’m underwhelmed by Declan Rice. I think he’s a very good player but I’m trying to work out what a £100 million footballer should look like. I think it should look like something a bit more compelling than something we’ve currently got. Maybe he’s been asked to play a certain way. There’s a rumour going round here that eventually Declan Rice is going to pass the ball forward this tournament. I’m not entirely sure he’s having the greatest World Cup, but I would expect that at the end of this season, Rice will have a decision to make.
Rice has clearly been told by England boss Gareth Southgate to sit back and protect the back-line.
So those comments from Jordan are perhaps a little unfair.
The thing is, he does have a point.
Declan Rice is a top-class central midfielder, but for a big club to pay £100 million plus, he would surely have to be chalking up at least five goals and five assists every single season – something he has obviously not done.
That could be the problem for West Ham. David Moyes will obviously want to keep him at the London Stadium but if he can’t do that, the Wets Ham owners may well have to lower their demands for Rice, or risk losing him for nothing in two year’s time.
