Outspoken pundit Gary Neville has absolutely savaged West Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady on social media.

If there are two people in football who are not shy when it comes to airing their views it is Neville and Hammers chief Brady.

Both pundit Neville and Baroness Brady have very different political allegiances and leanings as well as a number of extra-curricular activities outside their main roles with Sky and West Ham respectively.

After two years of great success, West Ham have barely been spoken about by Neville and his Sky Sports chums this season with the team struggling.

There was relief yesterday when West Ham got their first win in eight games with a 2-0 triumph over Everton.

It was fitting given that the match saw West Ham mourn the loss of co-owner David Gold, who sadly passed away earlier this month.

Gold and fellow West Ham co-owner David Sullivan made Brady the ‘first lady of football’ when they appointed her at Birmingham. And she has been with them ever since.

Neville has been campaigning for an independent regulator to be brought into football which would have power to sanction clubs – including West Ham – if they break financial and other rules.

The government says it will establish an independent regulator in football after endorsing recommendations made in the fan-led review into the men’s game.

UEFA, the Premier League and the FA currently regulate the football West Ham are involved in. And the Premier League has said it “recognises and accepts the case for reform” but that a regulator “is not necessary”.

In an article with New York Folk, West Ham vice-chair Brady reiterated her stance against an independent regulator.

She says calls from those who want to abolish parachute payments after relegation from the Premier League are from people who do not understand football finance.

And she describes the Premier League as the UK’s best asset which must be kept elite to maintain its success.

That has not gone down with one pundit in-particular.

Neville has absolutely savaged West Ham vice-chairman Brady on social media over her independent regulator comments.

“Karren Brady shouldn’t be anywhere near designing football’s future!” Neville said on Twitter.

“The EPL are panicking as they know the Independent Regulator is on its way.”

It is not the first time Neville and West Ham vice-chair Brady have clashed over the issue.

‘Hideous’ was the word Neville used as he criticised Brady over ‘self interest’ regarding football regulation earlier this season.
