Said Benrahma spoke to the club’s official website today and surprisingly admitted that he feels free to express himself at West Ham.
From what we’ve witnessed from Benrahma over the past 18 months, it seems like that has been anything but the case.

The 26-year-old joined West Ham from Brentford in October 2020.
He ended up joining on a permanent £25 million deal in January 2021, having spent the previous three months at the London Stadium on a £4 million loan deal (Eurosport).
Benrahma struggled to make much of an impact during his first season at the London Stadium though.
The Algeria international did find some form during the first couple of months of this season but then went through a really bad patch.
He has still bagged nine goals and six assists this season (Transfermarkt) but that hasn’t prevented David Moyes form giving him the cold shoulder on numerous occasions.
And Claret and Hugh even suggested yesterday that Moyes could be prepared to allow Benrahma to leave the London Stadium in the summer.
It seems as though that may be all a load of old rubbish though…
Benrahma makes West Ham admission
The former Brentford ace has clearly struggled with his confidence at certain times this season.
Benrahma and Moyes hardly seem like a match made in heaven. The Scot has been extremely harsh in his criticism of Said since he joined West Ham 18 months ago.
The Algerian ace suggested that he is in fact very happy at West Ham at the moment though, and feels free as a bird, as quoted by WHUFC.com:
“I started very well but there will always be dynamic spikes to the season. There was a little dip but it’s not the end of the world. I’m really happy to be playing and trying my best. Right now, I’m feeling really good, I’m feeling free, in a way freer than I was before. I’m confident at the end of the season is going to be good. And again, it’s just about getting the maximum of yourself and working hard.”
There you have it. Benny seems to be more than happy at West Ham.
Getting the best out of him should be one of Moyes’s priorities between now and the end of the season.
On his day, the Algerian can be unplayable.
Benrahma still has so much to offer West Ham. His comments today prove that he is more than up for the task of succeeding at West Ham. We have to say though, we were very surprised when we saw his remarks, considering how tenuous his relationship with Moyes has seemed to be at times this season.
