Newcastle United are allegedly eyeing a summer transfer swoop for West Ham United attacker Jarrod Bowen.

That’s according to a report from 90 Min who claims that Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is a huge fan of the 25-year-old Hammers ace. And it is alleged that he has received glowing references from the Newcastle scouts about the West Ham winger.

Bowen is a key figure at the London Stadium and will not come cheap.

West Ham will demand at least £70 million from any club that wants to sign the 25-year-old (Claret and Hugh), so Newcastle will have to seriously splash the cash.

Bowen has proven to be an exceptional addition for West Ham since moving to the London Stadium for £20 million in January 2020 (BBC).

The 25-year-old has bagged 23 goals and 21 assists in 94 games for West Ham (Transfermarkt). He seems to have reached an entirely new level this season though, with 14 goals and 11 assists to his name in 41 games so far (Transfermarkt).

Tying Bowen down to a new long-term deal at the London Stadium will be crucial for David Moyes. It seems as though he could end up at St James’ Park if we’re not careful though…

Newcastle eyeing West Ham ace Bowen ahead of summer transfer window

Howe wants to bring the former Hull City ace to St James’ Park in the summer according to a report from 90 Min.

Newcastle will be big players in the summer transfer window what with their new-found wealth following the takeover of the club from the mega-rich Saudis.

You would like to think that Bowen is happy at West Ham. Hopefully the Hammers owners show some real ambition in the transfer market in the summer.

Because that’s what they need to do if Moyes is going to keep his best players at the London Stadium.

West Ham are on the precipice of achieving something really special. Whatever happens in the summer could end up defining us as a football club over the next few years.

Keeping Declan Rice in East London will be the probity. Not far behind that though, will be retaining the services of Jarrod Bowen.

Newcastle making a move to sign the West Ham star in the summer transfer window may well present us with a big problem though.

Hopefully the club’s owners stand firm. The last thing we need at the end of this season is to lose our best players what with so many others already set to depart the London Stadium.
